Defense Industry Advisors holds membership and access with over 20 active Other Transaction Authorities (OTAs) and supporting federal innovation programs such as SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) and STTR (Small Business Technology Transfer). These affiliations are not just checkboxes, they are strategic gateways into some of the most competitive, fast-moving, and high-value contracting ecosystems in the defense and federal innovation space.
What Are OTAs, SBIRs, and STTRs?
OTAs are streamlined contracting vehicles authorized by Congress to accelerate innovation and acquisition within the Department of Defense and other federal agencies. They are specifically designed to bypass the traditional Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) process, allowing the government to work with non-traditional defense contractors and small businesses more quickly and flexibly.
Why this matters:
OTAs often lead to rapid awards, prototype development, and non-competitive follow-on production contracts—making them highly valuable for companies looking to break into or expand in the defense space.

Certifications

DD2345
We are fully registered under the United States/Canada Joint Certification Program (JCP), holding DD2345 certification. This authorizes us to access and handle military-critical technical data that is governed under U.S. export control laws, including ITAR and DoD-sensitive materials.
