Defense Industry Advisors (DIA) is seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Proposal Writer / Proposal Analyst to support Department of Defense (DoD) proposals, white papers, and technical responses. This role supports both internal DIA proposal efforts and client-facing proposal development, working across multiple companies, technologies, and maturity levels.

This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy writing, research, and translating complex technical and engineering concepts into clear, compelling narratives—similar to academic or engineering research papers. Prior DoD experience is not required.

This role is well-suited for recent college graduates or early-career professionals seeking to build a long-term career in proposal development, capture support, and defense consulting.

  • Research and analyze DoD solicitations including RFPs, RFIs, BAAs, SBIR/STTRs, and white paper calls
  • Develop, edit, and refine proposal content across technical, management, and past performance volumes
  • Translate engineering, manufacturing, and technical concepts into clear, persuasive written content
  • Review and synthesize technical documentation, manufacturing processes, and program data into proposal-ready narratives.
  • Coordinate with engineers, program managers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and clients to gather inputsand clarify requirements.
  • Ensure proposal compliance with solicitation instructions and evaluation criteria
  • Maintain document quality, formatting, version control, and compliance in Microsoft Word
  • Use AI-enabled tools responsibly to accelerate research, improve clarity, and support compliance—while maintaining human judgment and original authorship
  • Support basic pricing, data analysis, and proposal inputs using Microsoft Excel as needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • Internship, academic, or early professional experience with technical writing, research, or proposal development
  • Exposure to manufacturing, engineering, or hardware-based programs
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition terminology and processes (helpful, not required)

Role Overview

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Social Media & Website Digital Content Specialist to support social media execution and digital content development for defense and aerospace clients. This role is ideal for a social-savvy creative who understands how content performs across platforms and can balance creativity with the professionalism, discretion, and detail required in the defense industry.

You will be responsible for managing social media content calendars, creating engaging visual and video content, supporting campaigns, and developing polished marketing collateral such as data sheets, PowerPoint templates, and brand guides. You should be equally comfortable producing short-form video content, designing clean and professional assets for executive audiences, and making updates in WordPress—all while adhering to established brand standards and content approval controls.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role that works closely with internal team members and client stakeholders to bring digital strategies to life.

  • Social Media & Campaign Executions
  • Develop, manage, and execute social media content calendars across platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, etc.)
  • Create platform-specific content including static posts, carousels, short-form videos, and campaign assets
  • Adapt content to align with platform best practices, performance trends, and client objectives
  • Support social media campaigns from concept through execution
  • Exercise sound judgment regarding sensitive information and public-facing communications
  • Content Creation & Design
  • Design high-quality visual assets using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
  • Edit and produce short-form video content optimized for social platforms
  • Apply strong visual storytelling principles to elevate client messaging
  • Maintain consistency with established brand guidelines across all content
  • Marketing Collateral & Brand Support
  • Create and update professional marketing collateral including: Data sheets and one-pagers, PowerPoint templates and presentations, Brand guidelines and visual systems
  • Ensure all materials meet brand, quality, and client expectations
  • Website & Digital Support
  • Make content updates and light design changes in WordPress
  • Add or modify pages to support campaigns and client initiatives
  • Collaborate with internal teams on website structure and content needs

  • Support multiple client accounts simultaneously while maintaining organization and timelines
  • Communicate clearly with internal team members and client stakeholders
  • Translate client goals into effective visual and digital content solutions

  • Salary: $60,000 to $70,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
